Stands for Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists, IADVL is one of the largest dermatologic associations in the world. As of today, the association based in India has almost 6000 members all connected in the Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology fields.
Like any other associations, IADVL has its own objectives and purposes.
- The promotion and advancement of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprology and allied subjects in India.
- The creation of public opinion and consciousness in all these different specialties and education of the public in matters relating to the prevention and cure of these diseases in all their aspects and to carry on such publicity as may be found necessary or feasible for attainment of these objects.
- The promotion of high standards in clinical practice, education and research through professional fellowship, co-operation and exchange of views amongst members and to uphold their interests
Founded in January 28, 1973, IADVL has been working harder than ever to realize all these objectives and purposes. With the association’s useful intentions, many professionals are interested to become part of it. As the years go by, the members keep on increasing and had even established branches in various parts of the country.
Currently, the association has 21 branches;

These branches were made possible by at least 15 eligible ordinary members who resolved to form themselves into a branch of the association. Members interested to form the branch should be residing or practicing in any state of the country and must sign application forms to be forwarded to the Honorary General Secretary. After due process and the majority of the Central Council members voted for the approval of the proposal, the formation of the branch shall be approved.
The IADVL Delhi State Branch has its office located in Central Delhi. The location is the permanent office of the President and Secretary of the association. It is also in this office where meetings are held as well as where the records and documents of the branch are kept.
